Five years after her last encounter with a mythical creature from Bulgarian folklore, Bojana leads a seemingly normal life. But there is nothing normal about the ball-shaped lightning bolts her son causes when he is angry. Nor in the devastating fires that threaten the Strandzha village of Usoe, where, despite the water crisis, cases of women being found drowned continue to rise.

What is hidden in the mysterious waters of the Karaevren Dam? What connects all the drowned women found near the submerged village and the asclepion left at the bottom?

Bojana and Mitko will meet Branimir again to try to solve a mystery that will take them far beyond the shadows of clouds and forgotten ancient deities.
