About the Product

Description

In Vera Mutafchieva's The Case of Jem, interpreting the high points of the Ottoman era and among them - the depth of the fall of a tragic prince - manages to interpret himself, his father, and above all the time in which we outlived it. „The Case of Jem” acts destructively on the local epic legend of the Turks as terrible invaders who destroyed our cultural identity and prevented us from developing in the so-called European cultural context. Mutafchieva opposes this radically and very courageously. She does so as a passionate Ottomanist in love with the object of her professional interest.
