Under one sky

Welcome to the home of the Kennedy family. Meet:

Laila: abandoned by her husband for a younger woman shortly after writing a bestseller about how to keep the spark in your marriage. Her home is falling apart - literally and figuratively, her career is stagnating, and she can't shake the feeling that the best years of her life are irretrievably gone.

Bill: Laila's stepfather, who moved in with them after her mother died. He's kind, old-fashioned, insists on healthy eating and drives her completely insane.

Seeley: Lila's older daughter, who hates school so much that she stops going. Her mother doesn't mind - probably because she doesn't know yet.

Violet: the younger daughter who loves obscene rap songs and thinks boys are disgusting. And Laila hopes that never changes.

Gene: Lila's estranged father, who abandoned her thirty-five years ago, and just shows up on her doorstep one day. He's far from a role model, but his presence upends the family's daily routine. The girls discover in the man who has chased the joy of life all his life, a true friend. Even Bill relaxes around him, and Laila, unexpectedly to herself, begins to go out on dates. And while this family is unconventional, it may ultimately prove to be the best thing for them.
