Manham murders

Welcome to the world of David Hunter, a professional on death!

Manham - a quiet village in the deep British countryside. Life here is simple, everyone knows each other and doesn't like change at all.
And just then, two kids discover the remains of Sally Palmer in the nearby woods.
Her corpse shows that she was tortured and killed. The whole of Manham is shocked and the police are helpless. When a second woman goes missing, fear and paranoia overwhelm the villagers.
And David Hunter is forced to return to his old profession - death and corpses.

Spanish teacher, drummer, investigative journalist - Simon Beckett drew on life experiences from all walks of life before wading into the deep waters of the crime thriller. His novels are based on notes taken during his police assignments - drug busts, brothel raids, shoot-outs and time spent at the famous Corpse Farm. Thus was born the idea for his unconventional hero, David Hunter.
The Dr. Hunter series includes the books Murders in Manham, The Fiery Trail , Whispers of the Dead, Grave Secrets, Dead Waters, and Smell of Death.
