Mother of Bones

Has Chief Commissioner Teresa Battaglia really lost the biggest battle of her life - the one with her memory, with her body, with the disease that has clouded her mind? This is the question that everyone around her, her colleagues, the people who love her are asking. Even her loyal partner in the investigations, Massimo Marini, when he rushes into the mountains after an anonymous call and finds Teresa bloodied, dazed and with the lifeless body of a young man in her arms. Where the dense forest gives way to the icy waters of the lake, something mysterious and terrible has happened. Who is this man? And why is Teresa there with him? Massimo has no answers, only doubts.

With her novel „Mother of Bones“ Ilaria Tutti draws us into a tangled and eerie mystery as it wanders with ease among historical facts and archaeological finds. With precision and delicacy, she introduces the reader to the complex world of Therese, who clings desperately to life, trying never to forget that there is beauty in the world.
