Elisabeth Benavente (b. 1984) is one of the most widely read contemporary female writers in Spain. She graduated with a degree in audiovisual communication and later earned a master’s degree in media and art from the Complutense University of Madrid.

In 2013, she published her first novel online, and after receiving numerous positive reviews from readers, she signed a contract with a publishing house, and the book was also published in print. The subsequent books in the „Valeria“ series also became a huge sensation and were adapted into a TV series of the same name in 2020.
